Phoenix Dining Chair PX 01

THB 148,000

Made from rare reclaimed and auspicious Pheasant wood (also known as Jichimu or Chicken wing) combined with Asian Blackwood. Accented with brass and abalone shell inlay. Sculpted seat and backrest.

When making my Phoenix chair, I paid utmost attention to the wood selection and the way the grain patterns flow. The chair backrest and seat are made from vintage Pheasant wood (also known as Jichimu and Chicken wing). This auspicious wood is renowned in classical Chinese furniture and dates back to the Ming dynasty, 14th century. The chair frame is made from antique Asian Blackwood, known for its rich dark brown/black color and hardness.

Every detail comes together quietly and with purpose. The seat brass reinforcement pins are inlaid with abalone shell and polished by hand. They protrude by just 1.0 mm with a beveled edge. A subtle tactile touch with a hint of shine. The foot supports are also reinforced with brass rods with the same subtle bevel detail.
