For our 10th Anniversary my wife surprised me with a very special present. She found Faisal’s company online who produces all sorts of beautiful wooden furniture. Luckily he is making also chopping boards. Not only for regular customers but also for high end chefs in Bangkoks top kitchens. l loved the process in choosing the wood, the design and the sice. This is the home studio of an amazing artist! Faisal has an astounding amount of talent in taking a raw chunk of wood, often dry and weathered (Faisal uses reclaimed wood), and giving it a new life as functional art that brings joy to me on a daily basis. But I must give a warning to the potential visitor... The studio is also a dangerous place to visit. If you love the beauty of wood as I do, it is likely that you may see something there that will stun you with its beauty. And very possibly one of Faisal’s works will come to live with you. Maybe not on your initial visit... but soon. If you are anything like me, you will feel a sense of gentle comfort when you use the item in your home. I like to think that’s the obvious love that Faisal put into each of his pieces, from a small cutting board to a large dining room table. (The photos below are all of items that I’ve purchased from Faisal.)

Faisal’s craftsmanship is top-notch, clean and precise in the treasure box I ordered. He also has a sharp and discerning eye for the rare and beautiful reclaimed Thai wood used in his woodwork (which he personally travels across the country to look for). It was worth waiting for my box, just like for all works of art and beauty. Communication with Faisal was seamless and he responds quickly and kindly to all my questions.
