Custom Stand for Mammoth Tusk

Honoured to be commissioned for this project by a trusting client. 30,000 year old mammoth tusk in a custom stand I designed and made. Quarter sawn slip-matched (Thai origin reclaimed) Antique Wood for the base in order to be dimensionally stable with no visible joint lines to the naked eye. The two cradles are from book-matched  reclaimed wood chosen for their colour tone and grain figure that compliments the vivianite mineral composition of the tusk.
