Jewelry Boxes in Oak Burl, Brass and Leather

A special jewelry box I made from exemplary materials.

The box top is from stunning brown oak burl wood. Inset with a custom solid brass “water drop” handle. The box sides are a four way grain match in pheasant wood. I lined the inside bottom in veg tanned Garnet leather from Toscany, Italy. Underneath the box is my makers mark in polished stainless steel. All the wood surfaces are finished using a French Polishing technique. Very time consuming but the end result is beautiful clarity and depth. I custom made the delicately profiled knobs in solid brass. Polished and waxed.
