Custom Desk in Black Walnut and Golden Teak Wood

I made this desk for my wife using beautifully figured American Black Walnut. She had her eyes on these gorgeous slabs for a long time ; these belonged to a family who purchased these as investment several decades ago and were reluctant to let them go… unless for a project that would really bring the best out of these. Such as creating a beautiful desk that would be treasured and well used everyday… so I convinced the family and got the slabs, and worked on it secretly, to offer it as an early Christmas surprise.
The top showcases the beauty of the flawless wood ; the trestle legs are made minimal, elegant, and functional to make it easy to sit and move around in the chair. I added precious brass pins to reinforce the joinery with a chic note.
The desk was hand rubbed with oil to bring out the depth of colors and the sheen of the materials.
