Custom Golden Teak Desk
with Drawer and Brass / Ash Inlays

I conceived this desk using quarter sawn marine grade golden teak, which is the most stable and highest quality in the world.
The top features Thai-inspired brass silhouettes in each of a the four corners as per the client’s special request, each adorned with Tamo ash triangle.
The delicate drawer is built expertly in teak with rare Tamo ash front using the traditional dovetail construction ; and I designed and handmade a sculptural brass drawer pull to complement it.
The legs are made minimal, elegant, and functional to make it easy to sit and move around in the chair. I added beautiful brass pins to reinforce the joinery with a chic note. They have a jewellery-like subtle bevel to catch the light and add tactility.
Everything was hand rubbed with oil to bring out the depth of colours and the sheen of the materials.
I took me several months to make this desk, and I am very pleased with the outcome.
